An alteration of DNA methylation patterns is considered to be associated with many diseases, and it is common in most cancers with significant effect on gene expression patterns that leads to disturbing biological functions in cells. Aberrant DNA methylation is a hallmark of cancer and could serve as a potential cancer biomarker. My current research aims to study global DNA methylation patterns among various cancer types in Thai cancer patients and to identify cancer DNA methylation biomarkers in circulating cell-free DNA (cfDNA) from blood samples for early detection of cancer.
